The Brookline Council on Aging is a Town agency responsible for planning, coordinating and providing comprehensive services for Brookline residents age 60 and over. They work with other town agencies and community service providers to enhance the quality of life for their elders. The Brookline Senior Center is a Town gathering place dedicated to enriching the aging experience for Brookline seniors over the age of 60. They provide a rich, diverse environment with a wide range of opportunities, programs and services in the areas of health, learning, art, socialization, nutrition, and recreation. Their goal is to help seniors maintain their independence and continue to be active members of their community. They believe wholeheartedly in enhancing growth, dignity and a sense of belonging while encouraging individual contributions and the sharing of life. |

The Alzheimer's Association has a wealth of resources for families facing Alzheimer's disease - information, support groups, local medical resources, news, and events. They provide a great of funding for Alzheimer's research and sponsor many fund-raising events across the country. |

Springwell is an Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) serving Brookline, Massachusetts and surrounding communities. ASAPs operate under a state contract to coordinate and deliver a wide range of services to senior citizens in their regions. |

For seniors who live alone and cannot prepare food for themselves, Meals on Wheels can be a godsend. Friendly volunteers deliver meals and often can provide some social stimulation in an otherwise lonely day. Recipients must be at least 60 years old. Services can be for a short period, such as recovery from surgery, or for an indefinite period. Meals are federally subsidized under the Older Americans Act. Springwell's Meals on Wheels coverage area is Belmont, Brookline, Newton, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston. |
