The Council on Aging serves Weston residents over 60 years of age, providing services, referrals, and information resources on a wide variety of topics. Social opportunities, educational experiences, financial counseling resources, transportation, therapeutic needs, and other opportunities fall within the Council's scope. The COA focuses its efforts on issues of health and health insurance, in-home assistance and housing, taxes and legal matters. The COA provides free transportation to medical appointments and fuel assistance, among other services including a food pantry. Over 200 volunteers support the Town staff and the COA. The COA is located in the Community Center and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. |

Brook School Apartments are owned and operated by the Town of Weston, comprising 75 apartments designated for residents who are either at least 62 years old or are disabled. HUD subsidizes 42 units - the maximum income allowance of $52,950 for couples ($46,300 for individuals). In addition, Weston Community Preservation Funds subsidizes 13 units using guidelines identical to HUD's. Twenty apartments have no income restrictions and are rented at current market rates. |

Merriam Village provides housing to people of low or moderate income levels ($59,500 for a couple or $52,500 for an individual), with a preference to those over 65 years of age and with a personal relationship or link to Weston. The facility is designed for independent living, and borders 150 acres of conservation land. |

Springwell is an Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) serving Weston, Massachusetts and surrounding communities. ASAPs operate under a state contract to coordinate and deliver a wide range of services to senior citizens in their regions. |

For seniors who live alone and cannot prepare food for themselves, Meals on Wheels can be a godsend. Friendly volunteers deliver meals and often can provide some social stimulation in an otherwise lonely day. Recipients must be at least 60 years old. Services can be for a short period, such as recovery from surgery, or for an indefinite period. Meals are federally subsidized under the Older Americans Act. Springwell's Meals on Wheels coverage area is Belmont, Brookline, Newton, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston. |
